U.S. envoy tells Lebanon Israel does not want escalation

BEIRUT/JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A U.S. envoy has assured Lebanon that Israel does not seek an escalation between the countries following a surge in hostile rhetoric, Lebanese and Israeli officials said on Thursday.
